Thank you for showing the picture of the red water. I’ve always called it that way because when I was growing up I thought all waters were crystal clear except the Congo water. That brings my childhood memories back. Thanks very much.
This family we met on the road to Ingende were on their way to Mbandaka via small streams through the rainforest. One pirogue was filled with manioc root which they submerged to leech out the poisons before making it into rolls of chikkwangue. By the time they got to the big market, two or three days later, it would be ready to sell.
